Our Service

Automatic correction processes have been approved since years in optics manufacturing. Due to the high investments for machines and metrology, these kind of processes are mainly used by the large companies. fineoptix offers a full correction system consisting of a subaperture stitching interferometer with high resolution interferometer module, Metro-Pro software and a correction machine with MRF process as a service unit.

This technology allows full aperture interferometric testing of optics as well as a fast and efficient correction of the surfaces. Especially for manufacturing “normal spherical optics”, automatic form and surface correction can be very beneficial. In small and mid-size volume production - even if mo-dern polishing equipment is being used - the efforts in time and workmanship can be very high if qualities of λ/2 or λ/4 have to be reached.  Centre thickness, cosmetics, radius of curvature and form error have to be brought in specification at the same time. This can be a huge challenge if today's glass types and geometries are taken into account.

Many lenses have easy deformable geometries and/or sensitive glass types. Such lenses get cosmetically clean only using a special parameter combination of work pressure, slurry properties, polishing speed etc. But these settings might cause stronger deformation. Settings for low deformation might cause more cosmetic defects etc. It can take hours to find the correct and good setting for getting all specifications under control. This results in long, not calculable setup times and therefore an inefficient use of expensive manufacturing lines.
